Balloon - History

A balloon is a flexible bag filled with a type of gas, such as helium, hydrogen, nitrous oxide or air. Early balloons were made of dried animal bladders. Modern balloons can be made from materials such as rubber, latex, polychloroprene or a nylon fabric. Some balloons are purely decorative.

When rubber balloons are filled with helium so that they float, they typically retain their float for only a day or so. The enclosed helium atoms escape through small pores in the latex which are larger than the helium atoms. Balloons filled with air usually hold their size and shape much longer.

Even a perfect rubber balloon eventually loses the gas to the outside. The process by which a substance or solute migrates from a region of high concentration, through a barrier or membrane, to a region of lower concentration is called diffusion. The inside of balloons can be treated with a special gel (for instance, the polymer solution ) which coats the inside of the balloon to reduce the helium leakage, thus increasing float time to 1 -4 weeks or longer. We coat all of our balloons with Maxi Float and there is no charge for this service.

With our gift in balloon service we are able to fit most items under 5.5 inches in to a balloon on a cushion of shreded colur paper and or mini balloons, the gift he hung in the centre of the balloon so it looks like it is hanging in the centre of the ballon.

We have ready made gift in a balloon for weddings, new born boy or girl, Birthdays or we are able to make a gift in a balloon while you wait.

We have filled balloons with many different presents like, mini champaine bottles. teddy bears, flowers, confetti and mini balloons, football shirts, boxes of chocolate the list goes on, if it will fit under 5.5 inches and is not too heavey we can wrap it in aballon for that extra spechial gift.
If required we can the house the balloon in a desplay box to give it extra protection.
